Julian was educated at Charterhouse. He studied Fine Art at the Slade School of Art, London and Engineering at Balliol College Oxford. (rusticated). He bought paintings for the college and edited the magazine Mesopotamia.

In 1965 he opened a shop in Oxford selling furniture/china/glass/toys etc.
This expanded into a wholesale business which he continued to run for 20 years after the sale of the shop in 1969.

He now lives on a 75 acre farm in the Cotswolds with five holiday cottages.
He is building a house in the Picos de Europa, Asturias, N.Spain.
Julian also makes chairs.

He was founding chairman of the Stroud Preservation Trust and Chairman of the Stroud Civic Society

Hege is Norwegian, but educated in England. She lived for ten years in North Cyprus and is tri-lingual in Norwegian, English and Turkish.
BA (hons) in Archeology and Geology at Bristol University (2004).
MA (with distinction) in Landscape Archeology at Bristol (2005)
Now embarking on a 5 years research for a doctorate (PhD). 
She has two children by her previous marriage: Emma (1986) & Tom (1988).
